I am willing to negotiate on price.
I am selling my handmade costume of the Hatsune Miku design created to promote the Digital Stars 2022 club event. This outfit was partially made by a hobby sewist in Japan, and partially by me, an American hobby sewist.
The outfit includes a bra-style top, a two-layer pleated skirt, an oversized jacket, a belt with two pockets, a pair of headphones, and a choker-style neckpiece; optionally, a pair of distressed socks and short boots can be included, if the buyer believes they will fit and does not want to source their own for hygiene reasons.
The wig shown in the second image and the happi jacket shown in second-to-last image are NOT included.
The top has C-size cups built in and features eyelets across the center front, to be used with the neckpiece's laces. A non-elastic band spans around the bottom; the straps are elastic and adjustable. Its closure sits under the right arm and has two parts: four vertically aligned hook closures and two velcro patches, one on the main body and one on the band.
The star accessory attached to one strap was 3D printed in sparkly black PLA and hot glued to a brooch-style pin.
The straps that lay across the midriff are sewn into where the band meets the rest of the top and they cannot be adjusted. The strap that hangs down has wiring inside of it and is posable, imitating the windswept look of the original illustration (shown in the last picture).
The neckpiece has a snap closure at the center back and is Not elasticated - I had to add an extension on the back of it so that it would fit around my neck. The spikes are EVA foam.
The jacket has two internally wired belts emerging from the lapels, which are posable like the one that hangs from the top.
The headphones are functional bluetooth headphones that charge by micro USB, decorated with foam and insulating tape accents.
LED lights are wired throughout the headphones under the pink areas, powered by 3 AA batteries held inside the attached fake mask.
Unfortunately, this system stopped working the second time that I wore the outfit, and I don't have confidence in my technical knowledge to fix it. Batteries and micro USB cord are not included.
The skirt features a cyan underlayer which is also pleated. Its closure is a zipper and hook/loop, and its waistband has two belt loops. The skirt is pretty girthy, but altering the girth of pleated skirts requires much effort, so both the original sewist and myself were content to use the hook closure to pull the waistband tight and fold the excess fabric into a "pleat" of sorts that is easy to slide behind the wearer and hide with the jacket.
The belt is adjustable due to its side release buckle closure. The pockets can slide along the belt and also use side release buckles to close.
I can send one of two wigs alongside the costume, or neither if the buyer wishes to use their own. Neither wig has been worn by me, and I will not charge any additional cost for either wig.
The one shown in the first image is Arda Wigs's Claire Classic and two of their 40" clip-in ponytails in their Aqua color. Their Claire wig was designed with high ponytail styles in mind, and has backwards wefts all around and short hairs at the nape of the neck, to create a natural look on the head when the hair is gathered. I have not cut or styled any of these pieces; I temporarily tied the Claire wig into a ponytail for these pictures, just so that you can see what it would look like if styled.
The other wig option is shown in the second-to-last picture, it is a short wig from the Japanese brand Assist with two matching clip-in ponytails which have had wires put inside so that they are posable and maintain shape, reminiscent of the original illustration. These were created by the original cosmaker using glue and wefts, and have frayed quite a bit, which is why I elected to use another wig, but I figured it doesn't hurt to offer it as an option.
Additional pictures of or information about any piece are available upon request. :)
I listed the "traditional US size" required by Lumikha as "M", but that is basically meaningless, so if it helps your understanding of how this fits, I am 5'5" (165cm tall) and usually wear US men's S and US women's M. I also included the relevant bust/waist/hip measurements.
